Labor Day was nearly a month ago, and September has been a whirlwind—but better late than never to recap our long weekend up north. As the evening air turns crisp and the leaves start hinting at early autumn, a spur-of-the-moment trip to our personal campsite was exactly what we needed.

No trip to our White Birch getaway is complete without hitting a couple of our absolute favorite local spots!

• Dinner at the Timeout Tavern: We made our mandatory stop at The Tavern to indulge in my absolute favorite sandwich. You just can’t replicate that classic small-town, up-north pub atmosphere—or that incredible meal—anywhere else! This is by far the BEST chicken and waffles sandwich I've ever had!

• 

  Craft Beer Discovery: We stopped by Four Leaf Brewing in Clare. I stumbled upon a delicious new craft beer on tap that paired perfectly with the relaxed holiday weekend vibes. If you ever find yourself passing through, Four Leaf is an absolute must-visit for any craft beer enthusiast! I'm not a big fan of anything cherry but Four Leaf Brewing changed my mind a bit with their ''Lucky Lady!" This cherry-covered chocolate wheat was a special11th anniversary brew that I hope will become part of their offerings.
